Chet O'Connell Band

The Chet O'Connell Band is a professional established band. The band is led by the dynamic father and son duo of Johnny and Chet O'Connell who have been sharing the stage for over 30 years.

Chet O'Connell is an accomplished entertainer and has been performing professionally for over 25 years performing throughout the country and on the international stage with his own band, as a soloist and with many of New Zealand's top performers.

Johnny O'Connell has been a part of the New Zealand music scene for over 40 years and still shows a love of music that leaves people wanting more.

Neil Hannan and Johnny Scott complete the line up on Bass and Drums, and have also shared the stage with Chet with the 'Class of 58', Gerry and the Pacemakers and John Rowles' to name a few.

The Chet O'Connell band has an extensive repertoire and can perform music that ranges from "Middle of the Road" and "Country Rock", through to new and old "Rock and Roll" and contemporary favourites. What makes the band different is that they have the versatility to cater for different crowds. They are often hired to play Country/Country rock all night, other evening's see them performing only classic Rock 'n' Roll, or it might be a selection of both with some classic covers and contemporary favourites added. They generally mix things up depending on the crowd and can please most people. The Chet O'Connell Band not only play music, they entertain! It might be a small set of Buddy Holly classics, or the Instrumental Guitar hits of the 60's, this band is sure to deliver first class entertainment.
